Jefferson Starship is an American rock band formed in the early 1970s by several members of the former psychedelic rock group Jefferson Airplane. Jefferson Starship was among the most successful arena rock bands of the 1970s and early '80s, an even greater commercial entity than its predecessor. Jefferson Airplane became the first San Francisco band to sign a major record deal and achieve international mainstream success. The group also headlined multiple festivals including the original Woodstock Festival in 1969. Jefferson Airplane was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and their greatest hits include "Miracles," "Count on Me," "Jane," and "Find Your Way Back."
